Our Collaboration
with Rachael Cooyou
At Exmouth Bus Charter, we believe that every journey should be more than just a ride—it should be an experience that connects people to the land, culture, and history of this incredible region. That’s why we are honored to collaborate with Rachael Cooyou, a Payungu Elder, talented artist, and passionate storyteller, to bring a deeper cultural dimension to our services.
Who Is Rachael Cooyou?
Rachael Cooyou is a highly respected Payungu Elder and the owner of Raewendy Creations. As an artist, she draws inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes of the Ningaloo Reef and surrounding areas. Through her art and storytelling, Rachael shares the rich traditions, history, and deep spiritual connection of the Baiyungu people to this land.
Beyond her artistry, Rachael is a dedicated mother, grandmother, and community leader, committed to preserving and celebrating Aboriginal culture. Her work serves as a bridge between generations, ensuring that the stories of her ancestors continue to be shared with those who visit and live in this special place.
A Shared Vision: Cultural Connection Through Travel
At Exmouth Bus Charter, we are more than just a transport service—we are passionate about offering meaningful experiences that showcase the beauty and significance of Exmouth and its surroundings. Through our partnership with Rachael, we are incorporating elements of Baiyungu culture into our offerings, giving visitors an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the land they are exploring.
This collaboration aligns with our commitment to honoring and acknowledging the Traditional Owners of Cape Range National Park—the Baiyungu, Thalanyji, and Yinigurdira people. By weaving Rachael’s insights and artwork into our services, we aim to create a travel experience that respects and celebrates the cultural heritage of the region.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to develop new experiences, our partnership with Rachael Cooyou will play a key role in shaping our approach to cultural tourism. Whether it’s through guided storytelling, artistic installations, or special events, we are excited to share the wisdom and creativity of Rachael with visitors to Exmouth.
Stay tuned for more updates as we bring this vision to life.
